Martinez March 6th & 7th Hello Everyone, Our first qualifier for 2010 had a couple of issues that are being resolved this week in order to streamline the operations and make our time more productive and enjoyable. I would like to extend an apology to all of you for the time it took to do the draw and the results. With the computer being D.O.A it made it difficult and time consuming. Thank you for your patience and understanding. This morning some of those changes I spoke about before the raffle were put immediately into place and should be available by the end of the week. Results have been sent to webmaster to be posted. I would like to acknowledge Karl Beltz (Jackall http://www.jackall-lures.com & Ardent http://www.ardentoutdoors.com) for proving some rather awesome items. Thanks to our contributing sponsors and those that assisted in getting product out there to the members and raising the bar for our raffle revenue. Special thanks to the Anaheim Angels (4 Spring Training tickets) and the Phoenix Suns (2 tickets for 3/21) for their 11th hour contributions to the prize pool. When you are down by Bass Pro Shop and want to grab something to eat remember to stop in at Chilli’s, Famous Dave’s BBQ, and Toby Keith’s. All three of these businesses made the grade by delivering on their promise to support The Bass Federation – AZ. Thanks to our TBF National sponsors for contributing the jacket, shirts, hats, oil, mini cooler, and tackle.
The next qualifier will be at Apache Lake on April 10th. We had a good turnout for Martinez and some new members establishing themselves as potential State Team contenders. After reviewing who was and wasn’t at Martinez the calculation works out that if 95% of the members fished at Martinez we would have put on a 44 boat derby. Competition is better, the payout is better, and this allows the Federation to support youth and conservation efforts better. I hope to see 95% participation at Apache. The Federation Open is on May 1st and will be at Roosevelt. Maybe we should call it the Roosevelt Bass Federation Round-Up! The signs are all there for this to be a great tournament; water level, time of year, moon phase, temperature, and competition. Keep in mind early registration prizes and this is the big event that funds the Federation to be able to do so many things within our communities. Sponsors are being contacted daily for the raffle items and as we continue work toward a naming sponsor for the tournament we will keep you informed as to the progress. Roosevelt is again on the FLW Western Tour and is viewed as a top 5 destination in the US for bass fishing. Many thanks to all of you, and I look forward to seeing you at Apache Lake.
